Archdeacon H. W. William?, of Gisborne, arrived in Auckland yesterday rooming.
Mr. H. Mcllwraith, of Christchurch, and Mr. H. J. Brittain, of Wellington, are at the Central Hotel.
Mr. IT B. V. Townshend, of Auckland, who is shortly 10 leave on active service, has been admitted by Mr. Justice Hosking as a solicitor of the Supreme Court.
Dr. W. W. Sedgwick, Bishop of Waia-pn, who was in Auckland yesterday for the purpose of attending the annual of the Pensions Board of the dioceses • f > Auckland, Waiapu, and Melanesia, left for the South by last evening's express.
Lieutenant-Colonel R. R. Grigor, D.5.0., has returned to Balclutha, after having been absent for nearly three years. Lieutenant-Colonel Grigor left New Zealand with the Main Body, with the rank: of major in command of the 12th Squadron Otago Mounted Rifles.
Mr. 7. W. Whittaker. of Talmerston North. has been appointed Domini'n auditor for the Government in connection with the butter-fat levy. Mr. Whittaktr resigned the position of secretary to tlu Bunnythorpe Dairy Company, which ha has held for a number of years.
