SYDNEY, June 6.1 The Labour Conference passed a motion deploring the wholesale dismissal of workmen and substitution of female labour, and pledged itself to resist any attempt to introduce conscription. • A delegate stated that since the defeat of the conscription proposals the number of men employed was steadily decreasing. Commenting on the Labour Conference, the Sydney Morning Herald says it in clear from the peace motions debited that the Political - Labour League is r.ow purely an anti-war league.
