WAIHI - PAEROA. RETURN OF £4650. The Wailii-Paeroa Cold Extraction Co., durine 'lie period ended March 20, treated , '.1.200 tons of tailings for a rotura of bullion valued at £4650. Compared with the corresponding period of last, year, when 12.6C0 tons ! yielded £3360. this shows an increase of £1300. The total valuo of the bullion won by the company to date is £213,511. SHAREHOLDERS' ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the shareholders in the Wailii-Paeroa Gold Extraction Company was hold yesterday. in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman. Mr. G. N. Kinsswell. said thai last year the company went in for a new system of treatment, the results of which weie very satisfactory. Friday. The recent decision by the directors of the Waihi Cold Mining Company to suspend operations at the low level, pending more favourable conditions, appears to have given an impression in some quarters that the water on the field will be allowed to rise to a point which might cause the Crraud Junction Company to abandon temporarily its development work on the No. 8 level. The niajiagor of the Grand Junction mine stated to-day that there was no likelihood of a stoppage of work at So. 8 level, as arrangements had been made to keep the water well below that level.
