LEAGUE OF WORKERS.
A BROAD PROGRAMME. Australian and N.Z, Cablo Association, {Received 1 a.m.) LONDON, March 21 Mr. J. Hodge, Minister for Labour was elected president bf the first annual conference of the British Workers' National League. This was formerly the Socialist National Defence Committee, but has now been placed on a broader permanent basis. It includes such prominent Labour leaders as Messrs. Mabon and Crooks. Its programme includes national military training on the lines of Lord Roberts's proposals, the exclusion of sweated or bounty-fed alien goods, and a vigorous agricultural policy to render Britain nine-tenths self-supporting.
