PROTECTIVE WORKS INSPECTED.

rAEEOA. Thursday. An inspection of tin- works in connection with the Waihuu aid Ohineinuri Rivers was made to-day by the Minister for Public Works, the Hon. William Eraser. A large party, including representatives of the Paerou Borough Council, CountyCouncil and Chamber of Commerce, accompanied the .Minister. The party travelled in motor-cars to Tirolua, and thence by motor-launch down the \\ aihou River. Afterwards the Minister \isited Nether* toil, where lie received several deputations.
