MEN WHO HAVE FALLEN.
SERGEANT J. BANKS. Mns. Joseph Banks, of Gwynnelands, h?s received advice from her son, Sergeant J. Banks, that he has successfully undergone an operation, by which an ear drum was removed. The injury was the result of shock received in tho Somme battle. Sergeant Banks is now on the staff of one of the British military hospitals. '■4 CORPORAL H. HOWIE. Corporal Harold Howie, son of Mr GeoTge Howie, of Morrinsville, who was been in a -London hospital or somQ -„. months, and has undergone five serious operations, is now reported to be makinc good progress towards recovery. Corporal Howie enlisted a tho age of 20, and left New Zealand in August, 1915. He foueht :.: nil through the Gallipoli campaign and ; .was severely wounded in the abdomen at • the Somme in September last. PRIVATE V.
