ADVANCE OF RUSSIAN COLUMNS IN ASIA.
* ONE ENTERS THE VILAYET OF MOSUL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, March 26. A Russian communique states : " The Russians pursuing the Turks ■have entered the vilayet of Mosul. We occupied enemy fortifications at Kalaichachin, in the direction of Khanikin, on the Mesopotamian frontier. The Turks are maintaining themselves on the heights near Mian-tag." "It was recently announced that the Russian column operating from Sakkiz had crossed the Persian frontier and entered Turkish territory. This is the northernmost of the Russian columns in Persia. Sakkiz is south of Lake Urmia and 150 miles north and west of Kermanshah, from which tho Russian column marching to meet tho British in Mesopotamia is advancing. The point at which the Russians crossed the frontier is about 130 miles due east of Mosul which lies on the right bank of the Tigris, 200 miles above Bagdad, near the ruins of ancient Nineveh,
