MANAGERS' REPORTS.
New Sylvia:' Fair progress has been, made in ■ the north drive on the Norfolk ; reef. The reef is 2£t wide and well mineralised. The south drive, has . been advanced : Bft. but values are low. Hauraki Reefs:' During.. tho past few weeks driving has boon continued cast and west. In the west face strong gold was seen at each breaking down; gold is also showing in the stringers running : through tho surrounding country rock. ;A;. little gold was seen in the east face, the possibilities being encouraging. ■'•-< \ . • - |-.-- . Occidental: Driving north on No. 3 reef at No. 6 level still continues.' While the reef in.the face is a' strong body of quartz very little mineral is ehowrag, and no gold can bo seen in it at present. In tha stones the reef is strong, good minerals being earned m the broken ore, a.' little gold having been.seen, . Toinia: Good progress has .been made with the'extension of tho drive, north of the main crosscut on No. 3 reef, tho face being advanced a. distance of lift. The class of country; being penetrated and the value of tho reef remains unchanged. v Golden Belt: The heavy flow of water in the south face of No. I level has now eased off.:. Tho :reef is welhmineralised,- the quartz being saved for treatment. t, v Waiotahi: Stoping.. on the battery level leader is being continued, - colours of gold having been seen during tho week.-_■■'•
