United Press reports- that the German . raider Moewo brought 593 prisoners. > Count Dohena, , the>commander, reports having sunk 27 vessels. ■ ' °"'f-' :i *%* ] Information circulated by Germany by wireless shows that in . addition to the ships sunk and captured by the Moewe, ] named in the communique of January 17, the following were sunk:— -i V British and French: Prince Eddie, Brecknockshire, Rhifenthe, of 3061 tons, Katharine, Esmeraldas, of 4678 tons, Otaki, Demeterton, of 6048 tons. Governor Jean. - Norwegian: Staut. It is announced that the St. Theodore, of 4992 tons—previously cabled as the Defeddig— was sunk. Some of the above-named vessels have been uninsurable foi- weeks; others recently sailed. The Pihodantho was owned by the London Marine S.S., Ltd., and was built in 1902 at West Hartlepool. .. ■■' ■ The Esmeraldas, which was owned by the Pacific Steam Navigation Company, was built at Sunderland in 1906. The Demeterton was owned by the Carlton S.S. Company, and 'was built .in 1914. , The St. Theodore, which was built in 1913, was owned by the British and - Foreign S.S. Company, Ltd. ' ■■■'•
