•*. . . SIX-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED. A six-EOOitED house, situated, in Old Mill i Road, in the Point Chevalier district, i. was completely destroyed by fire r j shortly after nine o'clock last night. " j The City Eire Brigade was con- ' siderably hampered in its endeavour to 11 quell the outbreak owing to the inade- > j quate water supply, only one lead of hoso > j being available, and that from a distance ' of 700 ft. The building, an old one, was I owned by Mr. F. Jaggar, leather mer--1 chant, of Auckland, and occupied by Mr. f W. Kempton. Mr. Kempton's furniture ; ' and piano were insured for £120 and £40 • respectively in the Royal Insurance Office.
