Dr. A. H. Ijeatham, inspector of hispital appliances, arrived in Auckland from the South on Saturday. He is at ,y----ing at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. David Smith, acting-command ,v----master at the Auckland district bedquarters, has been granted the honor) ry rank of lieutenant while so engaged.
Mr. C. W. Jones, manager of Hudd irt Parker, Ltd., at Wellington, who las been staying at the Grand Hotel, left jv the Main Trunk express last night.
Mr. James Finlay, of Wellingkn, general manager in New Zealand of tie Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, Ltl., is on a visit to Auckland. He is atavi ig at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. Robert Betts, secretary of no Colonial Ammunition Company's Lond m office, and Mr. A. J. Cartwright, assi itant manager of the company's Melboui no works, who have been on a visit of nspection of the works here, left for W ?!- lington, via Wanganui, by the expnss last night. While in Auckland they w ire staying at the Grand Hotel.
Messrs. E. W. Alison, W. J. Ral ib, M. Casey, and Colonel W. D. Hol ite left for Wellington by last evening's " express, in order to attend a meeting of .he Coalmine Owners' Association of Sew Zealand to-morrow, and a conference v. ith the representatives of the Coalmini rs' Federation, which will be held proba >lv on Wednesday.
