AUCKLAND LEAGUE FORMED. : One of the chief aims of tiro Y.M.C.A. ' in its way work is to maintain the link between the men at the front and their homes. A scheme with this object par- ; ticularly in view has been enthusiastically : taken up in Britain and Canada, and has ' recently been inaugurated ,in Australia and various parts of New Zealand. This - is the collection, by specially.created lea sues, of snapshots of the homes or of ' the wives and children, mothers, and 1 sweethearts of soldiers in the firing-line!' nailing from the districts in which the leagues arc formed. .The idea is that members should call on the relatives and friends of the absent men who have expressed the desire to the representatives of tho I.M.C.A. in camp or on transports and arrange to photograph them, and supply free prints to bo posted to the front Ihe scheme was fully explained to a public meeting held at the YM C V building by Mr. P. J. L . Kenny, secre! tary of the Y.M.C.A. Several amateur photographers were present, including re- i presentatives of the Auckland and Onehunga Canierp, Clubs. It was decided to : form a branch of the Snapshots from-Home , League in Auckland. A committee will be appointed and details arranged at a meeting on Thursday nest.
