The Press Bureau states that Sir Neville' Chamberlain, Controller of | Civilian Service, in accordance with; a decision of the War Cabinet, is instructing every Government Department to cancel forthwith the exemp-! tions of all men of 22 and under who j are fit for general military service. Arrangements are being made, however, to schedule as temporarily exempt men employed in the production of steel, agriculture, mines, quarries, railway-shops, transport, and shipyards.
