OFFICIAL POST IN EGYPT.
DR. SYDNEY SMITH APPOINTED. [BY TELEGRAPH —PRKSS ASSOCIATION'.] WELLINGTON, Friday. Advice has been received by cable by Dr. Sydney Smith, district health officer at Wellington, that he has been appointed medico legal expert to the Egyptian Government, and lecturer on medical jurisprudence at Cairo University. He will leave for Egypt in a few weeks. Dr. Smith is a native of Roxburgh, Otago, and qualified at Edinburgh.
