The monument that has been erected on the site of the Alexandra Redoubt, near | Tuakau. as a memorial to the soldiers who fell in the Maori war. will be unveiled at two o'clock this afternoon by the Hon. W. W. Russell. A large number of veterans and several members of Parliament are expected to be present. Up to date some 500 eels have been caught in the eel drives held at the Opihi and Temuka Rivers, and these are now m freezing chambers and will be sent Home for wounded soldiers in the hospitals in England.
