RECENT TAURANGA FIRE.

INSURANCES ON HOTEL

The report of the fire which occurred iu Tauranga on November 12, published in the Herald, contained an inaccurate statement of the insurances on the Commercial Hotel. It was then stated that the insurances amounted to £3650. The mistake was due to a telegraphic omission in the message sent from Tauranga. This led to an amount relating to other properties being included in the statement of Mr. McStay's insurances. The insurances actually paid to Mr. McStay were as follows : —Buildings £1340, stock £200, furniture £360, and piano £50. a total of -T1941. We regret having published an incorrect statement.
