ROUMANIAN ARMY BELIEVED TO BE INTACT.
REASON FOR THE EVACUATION OF BUCHAREST. NO MEANS OF BRINGING RUSSIAN REINFORCEMENTS Australian and X.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, Dec. 7. Reports received in Paris indicate that the Roumanian army escaped intact. It is believed that the Roumanian retreat from Wallachia was due to the fact.that the transport of Russians from Moldavia to W aJlachia was impossible owing to the congestion of the BucharestJassy railway. The Roumanians consequently decided on the evacuation of Bucharest. It is understood that successive Roumanian lines of defence have been prepared between Buzeu, 60 miles north-east of Bucharest, and the River Jalomitsa, a tributary of the Danube.
