GOLDEN WEDDING.

Mr. and Mrs. W H. Cooper, of Leslie Avenue, Morningside, have just celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their -wedding. They were married at St. Bride's Church, Liverpool, on November 1, 1866, and came to New Zealand with a family of six children in the steamer Norfolk in 1881. Two more children were born in New Zealand. Prior to his retirement from business as an accountant and company secretary. Mr. Cooper was connected with the management of various companies, amongst them being the oft! Waikato Coal and Shipping Company. He was prominent in the formation of the New Zealand Accountants' Association, being one of its original Fellows. During his residence at Mount Eden Mr. Cooper took an active part in the affairs of the suburb, being chairman of the Mount Eden Road Board for three years, a member of the School Committee, churchwarden of St. Barnabas* Church, and a justice of the peace. He was also a prominent Freemason, and is a Past President of the Masonic Institute. The golden wedding was celebrated at, Maungatautari. CambriiW. where most o& the family now reside.
