AWARDS

PALMERSTON- NORTH. Thursday. There was perfect weather and a good attendance for judging day at the Manawatu Show. The Hon. J. Allen, the Hon. Dr. McNab, and Surgeon General Henderson were present. The Manawatu Patriotic Women Workers provided luncheon and afternoon tea, and netted the sum of £300. Mr. Allen. Dr. McNab, and General Henderson visited the diningrooms, and congratulated the ladies on the work they were doing on behalf of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. The quality of the exhibits in all classes was excellent, and was most favourably commented on by the judges. The championships were awarded as follows:—
Draugh Horses : Stallion, over four years, Donalds Estate, Featherston, Buchlyire's Favourite; Donald's Estate, Buchlyires, reserve. Harness Horses : S. F. Perretfs (Awapum), Ruby; J. W. Burke's (Eltham), i* ritz, reserve.
Shorthorns: Cow, Dalziell Bros.' (Hunterville), Blair Athol-Duchess 73rd; bull, G. A. Turner's (Eltham) Royal Duke 62nd. Herefords: Hereford silver cup, E. Short's (Feilding) Barometer 29th. Aberdeen Angus: Bull, F. Annstro; , s (Dannevirke) Moose 11.
North Devon : Bull, W. J. Birch's (Marion) (Joalkeeper. Ayrshires: Bull, D. Buchanan (Tiakitahuna) ; J. Kyle (Fizherbert), reserve. Jerseys: Bull, J. Watson's (Bulls) The Owls Victor; E. Eagle (Belvedere), Lady's Duke, reserve.
Lincolns: Ram, H. Gaisford, Oringi; ewe, Mrs. J. D. Onnond. Romney Marsh: Rani, S. E. Allen, also Perry Cup; W. K. Weightman, Awapuni, reserve. English Leicesters: Ram, R. PALMERSTON NORTH. Thursday. Waikato and South Auckland exhibitors are well represented at the Manawatu Spring Show. In the pig classes', Mr. E. J. Rogers, of Ngaruawahia, won several of the principal prizes.
