INCIPIENT FIRE AT WAIHI.

I'N'OCCUPIED BUILDING

[by telegraph.—own correspondent.] WAIHI. Wednesday. A tire broke out about three o'clock this afternoon in an unoccupied shop and dwelling in Seddon Street, but was got under control by the fire brigade before much damage was done. .. The building was one of a fairly e .v nsive block which includes the Salvation Army Hall and Baptist Church. The fire appears to have started between the lining boards of one of the upstairs living rooms, but there is nothing to account for its origin. The property was owned by Mr. Thomas A. Gibbs. of Waitekauri, and it is believed that it was not insured.
