The Age publishes a sensational account of a supposed attempt to assassinate the Prim" Minister, Mr. Hughes, who recently received over one hundred threatening letters. It appears, according to the Age story, that a constable saw a man attempting to enter Mr. Hughes's bedroom at midnight. The constable fired, but missed his man, who escaped in the darkness.
