FIRE ON FRENCH LINER
OUTBREAK IN SHIP'S HOLD, MAKING FOR THE AZORES. Ausl and N.Z. Cable. NEW YORK. Oct. 27. A message received by the Maritime Exchange states that the steamer Chicago, a vessel of 11,000 tons, owned by the French Compagnie Genera] Transatlantique, bound from Bordeaux to New York, is on fire in "No. 3 hold. She is making for the port of Fayal, in the Azores, and is | expected to arrive there to-day.
