THE LONE AMERICAN.
Here is a story, told by Miss Agnes Bepplier in her new book. "CounterCurrents," which bears on the immigration problem in the United States ;—A visitor of an investigating tun, of mind asked the pupils of various nationalitiesGermans, Polacks, Russian Jews Italians, Armenians, and Greeks—to stand up in turn. When the long list was seemingly exhausted, he bethought himself of a nation lie had overlooked, and said : " Now, let the American children arise!"
