GERMAN WHO LOST HIS HEAD.
During the fighting at Pozicrcs the Australians at one point made a furious attack on the Germans with bombs. Anyone in the neighbourhood who had ever thrown a bomb was volunteering (says a aemi-official account). It was far too furious for the German. He bolted along midi communication as lie had. One German lost his head, and climbing out of the trench tried to run away across the open. A youngster saw him. " He had a bomb in his hand, and he raced off at once after the German. It was a wildly mad thing to do, but he chased that big Hun like a greyhound until he was within throwing distance, and then flung his bomb like a cricket ball. It was a perfect shot.
