GERMAN HEAVY GUNS.

CAPTURE NEAR MORVAL. FOR USE AGAINST TANKS. A. and N.Z. Cable. LONDON. Oct. & When the Germans evacuated fortified trenches to the east of Morval, on the Somme front, they abandoned nine 88mm. guns (about 3iin). This is the first occasion on which gun& of this size have been seen in the trenches. Presumably they were to be used in attacking the tanks.
