CATHOLIC FIELD SERVICE.
DOMINION APPEAL FOR FUNDS. [BY TELJKRATH.— CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday. An appeal for funds for Roman Catholic chaplains is being made throughout the Dominion. It % has been found that Catholic chaplains are somewhat hampered in their work at the training camps, on hospital ships and elsewhere in the matter of essentials for the conduct of services. Consequently it has been deemed necessary to inaugurate a special appeal and to establish a fund to be known as the Catholic Field Service Fund. The fund is to bo placed at the disposal of tho chaplains to enable them to supply more adequately the spiritual needs of soldiers.
