Two heavy casualty lists, covering the period from September 15 to September 28, were issued by the Defence Department and circulated by the Press Association on Saturday— in the morning and the other in the afternoon. The first list gave details of 305 casualties. Fifty-four non-commissioned officers and men were reported killed in action, 16 died of wounds, one missing, believed to bo wounded, and 234 wounded. Of tho .wounded, 52 have been admitted to hospital, 34 have embarked for England, and eight remain with their units. In addition, previous reports concerning three men are corrected. The later list gave particulars of 428 casualties. Officers and men killed in action number 103, and one officer and 20 men died of wounds. The wounded total 304 officers and men, of whom 26 have been admitted to hospital, 15 have embarked for England, 10 remain with their units, and three have rejoined their units. Previous reports concerning one officer and three men are corrected.
