DEATH OF RHODES SCHOLAR.
CAPTAIN A. MACDOUGALL.
[from our own correspondent.] LONDON, August 15. Captain A. Macdougall, of the Royal Fusiliers, who has been killed in action, was one of the early Rhodes Scholars from New Zealand. He went to NewCollege, Oxford, where lie graduated a few years ago. He then spent several short" terms on the teaching staffs of University College, Nottingham; Queen's University, Belfast; and Bedford College. When war broke out he got a commission, being promoted captain in June, lyiS. Captain Macdougall was in London several times on leave, last time about two months ago, when, for the first time, the effects of trench lite were apparent. Captain Macdougall was an "old boy" of Wellington College and graduated at Victoria College, Wellington- His aunt, with whom he lived in Wellington, is now residing in Scotland. There are one or two brother* serving with the forces.
