ENEMY REPORT CHRONICLES NEW FRENCH ATTACK.

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. AMSTERDAM. September 17. A German communique states that all attacks northward of the Sorame were sanguinarily repulsed. Fighting is still proceeding round small English positions near Courcelette and Flers, and westward of Lesbceufs. Very definite attacks developed south of the Somme, with ceaseless artillery fire.

The French have captured the villages of Verranridovillors and Demy. Tho y have also secured all the ground between Vermandovillers and Dcniccvwt, east of Estrees, and Deniecourt and Demy.
