LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS.
NOMINATIONS IN THE COUNTRY.
Considerable interest is being shown in the local body elections, which will be held in the Whangarei district on Wednesday, September 20. Several candidates, says our correspondent, are contesting the seats on the Hikurangi Town Board and Onerahi Town Board. For the Hikurangi seat, on the Whangarei Harbour Board, .Mr. Alfred Carter, the sitting member i. being opno', J by Mr. Alexander McLeod. P In correction with the biennial election of commissioners of the K.hikihi Tow" Board, says our Te Awamutu corrodent, Messrs. J. J- Anderson, J. Corbry, V R Moody, C. Montefiore, C. 0 Onto, J Q Sutherland, and C. Thomson, have been nominated. As only five are required, an election must necessarily be held. mm
