ATTACK ON ROUMANIA.
BULGARIAN OFFENSIVE. RUSSIANS HASTENING SOUTH. FURTHER GAINS ON THE SOMME. EXTENSION OF ATTACKING FRONT. SUCCESS IN GERMAN EAST AFRICA. An offensive has been commenced against the Roumanians on the Dobfudja front, in the southeast of Romnania, by Bulgarian and German forces. It is stated that the Rou» manians are falling back on the Russians, who are rapidly advancing from the north. The French offensive has been extended south of the Somme to the Barleux-Denicourt front. Important progress has bee Q made in this region, and several villages have been capturedThe allied offensive north of the Somme is being con. tinned. In the original attack the British captured the enemy's defences on a front of 3000 yds to a depth of 800 yds. The whole of Gainchy was taken, but part of it was recovered by the German counterattacks. Since then, further ground has been gained north=west of Combles, where fighting "'.; continues. The Australians took part in Sunday's attack. They , defeated the First Prussian Guards, and captured Mouquet , Farm, southeast of Thiepval. ;;,, The terms of the allied Note have been accepted by the gL,.,, Greek Government. A correspondent states that the Govern. ment has decided to postpone the dissolution of Parliament j and the elections. Dar-es-Salaam, the capital of German East Africa, has been captured. \ The pursuit of the German forces south of :;£J~ the main railway is being continued.
