MAUNGAPOHATU TROUBLE.

ALLEGED COMPLICITY.

CASES TO BE DEALT WITH.

It is understood that as soon as the case now proceeding in the Auckland Supreme Court has been concluded, tho hearing will be commenced of the charges against five Maoris for alleged complicity in the affray at Maungapohatu, when the " prophet'' Rua was arrested.

The names of the accused men are Horomona, Puke Puke Kaneri, Whetu Rua, Tioka, and Maki. They will be lefended by Mr. J. 11. Lundon, and the Hon. J. A. Tole, K.C., hopes to bo sufficiently recovered from his illness to appear for the Crown.

The case is expected to last some time, as most of the witnesses who gave evidence in tho Rua trial will be called again.
