WOMAN COMMITS SUICIDE.
Depressed state of mind.

DUNEDIN, Tuesday. An inquest was held to-night concerning 'the death of Mrs. Matilda Bardsley, of North-East Valley, aged 70, who died in the hospital this morning. The evidenco showed that her husband on going to the back yard at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday found deceased sitting on a box with a cut in her throat. She suffered from throat trouble, and had to sit up at night from lack of breath. The medical evidence showed that deceased had been mentally depressed by the death of a son, who was killed in action. A verdict was returned that death was duo to injuries self-infiioW while in a depressed state of mind.
