CASE AGAINST CARRIERS.
DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF GOODS. • [by telegraph.— ASSOCIATION.] Wellington. Thursday. Ik the case of Casselberg and Co., merchants, against O'Brien and Co., carriers, claiming £39 on account of loss of motor oil, consigned to plaintiffs, \fhieh defendants had been instructed to receive and deliver, Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., gave judgment for the amount claimed, with costs £8 17s. The magistrate held that defendants had negligently performed their duty.
