To-day cooi and changeable weather has been reported, with showers, especially on the west coast and southern districts. The storm area has departed eastward, and heavy seas have been reported on. the east coast to-day.

The Te Anau. which arrived here early yesterday morning from Southern ports, with a. cargo of produce, is to sail to-morrow for the South to load for Auckland. The. barque Daniel has completed discharging her cargo of hardwood from Clarence Town. She will be shifted to a loading berth at the west side of the King's Wharf this morning. The Daniel will load a full otrgo of timber at this port for Sydney. The collier Ngahero is to load a cargo o£ coal at Greymouth to-morrow for Auckland, in place of the Ngatoro. She is expected to arrive here about August 31. The Huddart-Parker steamer . Victoria left Wellington last evening for Napier. Gisborne, and Auckland. She is due here on Sunday morning, and will sail on Monday evening for Sydney direct. * The Karamu left Greymouth early yesterday morning, coal laden, for Onehunga, Where she is due early to-morrow morning. From Onehunga the Karamu will proceed to New Plymouth. The Kaiapoi left Westport last night for Auckland with a full cargo of coal. . She should arrive here early on Sunday evening. The Kakapo is due at Onehunga to-morrow morning with a full cargo of chaff from Picton. On completion of discharge, the Kakapo will go to Tangowahine to load timber for Australia. The Kaitangata is expected, to leave Opua, Bay of Islands, to-morrow with a full cargo of timber for Sydney. The Kurow is expected to leave Kaipara to-morrow, timber laden, for Sydney. The recent bad weather has so hampered the Durham in working cargo at Waitara that she is now not expected to reach Wellington before Sunday. The Durham should reach Auckland towards the end of next week.
The Takapuna is about to be re-commis-sioned at Wellington to enter the Wellington-Picton-Nelson service on Monday.
ARRIVAL OF TONGARIRO. A. wireless message was received last night to the effect that the Tongariro will arrive at Auckland from London at two o'clock this afternoon, via the Panama Canal. She will berth at the Queen's Wharf on arrival. . She has 2500 tons pf cargo to discharge at this port.
ESSEX FROM NEW YORK. Advice has been received by the local agents for the Federal-Shire Line that the steamer Essex will arrive at Wellington tomorrow from New York, via Panama Canal. After discharging at Wellington the Essex will come to Auckland to continue discharge. She is expected to arrive here about August 31.
