ACTION FOR LIBEL.
DRAPERS AT VARIANCE
[BY xelegeaph.— press ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday The hearing of a claim for £1000 for alleged libel by Ernest James Smith, draper, of Greymouth, against William McKay, draper, of Greymouth, for remarks made in" an anonymous letter, was commenced in the Supreme Court to-day before Mr. Justice Denniston. The case had previously been heard in Greymouth before Mr. Justice Sim and a jury, which disagreed. Owing to the indisposition of Mr. Harm an, counsel for plaintiff, the case was adiourned till to-morrow.
