And though our hearts are hear ; We know that God anew best. -When He called to Himself our soldier boy, And bade a hero rest. - GAMBLE.— August 9, killed in action, Sergeant-Major Douglas Hepburn Gamble, ■ eldest son of Wm. Nelson and R. L. Gamble; aged 20 years. MAHONEY. — August 9, East of Suez Canal, killed in action, Trooper Edmund Lancelot George Mahoney, third eon of Mr. and Mrs. C. Mahoney. Ruatoki, Taneatua, Bay of Plenty; aged 22 years.
