WOUNDED IN ENGLAND.
CONVALESCENT CAMP.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
LONDON. July 1. It is practically decided that when the base depot is removed from Hornclimch, the cantonment there will he used for a convalescent camp for the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Hitherto, our convalescent soldiers have been scattered all over England, the largest detachment being at the Woodcote Park Camp, at EpsomThe concentration of them under the nil mediate control of the D.D.M.S. here is part of General Richardson's scheme, and it promises the satisfactory solution of a problem which has been anything but satisfactory in the past. The quarters at Hornchureh are excellently adapted for this purpose. It is probable that the Soldiers' Club, Te Whare Pur.i, which has been established by Miss Hilda Williams and other members of the Williams family, at Hornchurch, will be removed within the boundaries of the camp, and will become a regular part of the establishment. Miss Evelyn Williams, who has done such, excellent work in charge of the club in the village, will continue to have control.
