WELLINGTON. Sunday. The total amount of money to be raised locally this year for war purposes, as stated by Sir Joseph Ward on Friday night, is £8,000,000. The prospectus will be issued in a few days. It probably will be found that the sum will he raised in two divisions, although reaiiy there will not be two separate loans. It is intended to issue debentures for sums of £5 and upwards, ir- i i the case of the £2.000,000 public %vorks loan last year. The rate of interest ■will be per cent., with exemption from income tax.
