The Prime Minister, in his capacity as chairman of the Recruiting Board, has issued the folowing statement: The nineteenth reinforcement, which mobilises for training next week, is now complete. CRITICAL STAGE REACHED. URGENT NEED FOR RECRUIT?. Registrations for the twentieth reinforcement are now well in hand in most of the groups. The board wishes to impress on recruiting committees the urgent necessity of keeping up the flow of recruits, as it will be some time yet before the preparations for bringing the Military Service Act into operation will be completed. This work is now in progress, but in the meantime, and until the compulsory provisions of the Act can be enforced, it is essential that there should be no slackening off in enlistments. "We have now reached the stage in the great struggle when it is more than ever necessary to maintain our force in the field at full strength.
