RISING SUN.

The manager of the Rising Sun mine, Owharoa, reports that stoping over the low level in No. 1 and No. 2 blocks on No. 1 reef has been continued as usual. The reef is maintaining its size, and the ore broken from both blocks continues to be of a highly payable character. No. 2 block is being extended by beating the leading stope south. This stope has been carried along 12ft: the reef shows a width of 2ft and is of good value. The drive north on this reef has been advanced from 273 ft to 280 ft. The reef has an average width of l£ft, and the ore broken continues to bo of a highly payable nature. The drive north on No. 2 reef has been extended from 14ft to 18ft. The country rock continues to be of a hard description. The reef appears to lie making in size, now being about 9in in width.
