Short-dated loans arc quoted at 4| per cent. WOOL. At the wool sales the market \vs- very strong. There was a good selection of erossbreds and brisker bidding at recent rates. Merinos fully maintained late rates. Jhe following prices were realised for New Zealand clips :-Taora: Top, 19Wj average, !.B£d. Pungatana: Top, 18d; average, ITUd. The annual report of the Union Bank of Australia shows deposits, £24,055,785; cash, investments and remittances £11,103,735; bills, £19,065,373. BUTTER AND EGGS. The Dairy Produce Committee has fixed the wholesale prices of butter and eggs for the week ending July 20 as follows— Farmers' butter, first grade, per lb, lid; fresh eggs, per dozen, Is 4d.
