An official communique states that French machine-gun fire immediately arrested two enemy attempted attacks north of the Eiver Aisne and southwards of the Ville du Bois and Vauclerc Plateau, which are north-east of Compiegne.
An active artillery struggle continues in the Sou ville sector, on the right of the Meuse, with some patrol engagements in Chenois Wood, north of Verdun.
