Replying to criticism in the House of Lords, - regarding the Government's policy in conncction with the wool trade, Lord Sandhurst, Lord Chamberlain, said the Government acquired the 1916 clip at prices based upon the values ruling immediately before the war, with the addition of no per cent, in view of the farmers' increased expenses. Seventy-five per cent, of the estimated value was paid on delivery, and the balance after final inspectionDECLARATION OF WAR.
