ITALIANS RECAPTURE FURTHER TRENTINO POSITIONS

AUSTRIAN ARTILLERY FAILS TO STOP ADVANCE. SUMMITS AND VILLAGES TAKEN FROM THE ENEMY. (Received June 28. 9 p.m.) LONDON. JUNE 27. An official Italian report states " Between the Ri#r Adige and the Brenta our advance was continued, despite the enemy's attempts to hold us with concentrated artillery and machine-gun fire " also by rearguard actions favoured by the difficulty of the ground. In Vail Arsa our troops yesterday advanced across strong entrenchments, and completed the conquest of Mount Menerle. Along the Posna line they cleared the enemy off the southern slopes of Mount Aralta. Crossing the torrent they took the Posina-Arsiero line, thus beginning the advance on the northern side of the valley. On the Sette Comuni Plateau our infantry, preceded by cavalry patrols, reached the line from Punta to Cesuna, south-west of Asiago. .On the northeast they crossed the Nos Valley and occupied several summits. On the right our Alpine troops carried the crests Caloira and Campanella after much gallant fighting. "In Sugana Valley the situation is unchanged. In the Upper Vane we occupied Masif and Tognola."
