T A British communique states:—"A German attack last night, h south-east of Ypres salient, near the Ypres-Menin Canal, was repulsed. || All along the front- our patrols are very active and have entered the yj enemy's trenches at numerous points, inflicted casualties, and capgg• tured prisoners. Early in the morning we successfully exploded two ? Mines near Loos. The Leinsters inflicted many casualties during a successful raid."
