Mcintosh, £5. Sundry amounts, £37 14a 6d. Total, £8551 10s lOd. PROGRESS OF CAMPAIGN. MR. MASSEY'S APPRECIATION. Proof of the satisfactory progress of the Navy Relief Fund was given at the executive meeting held yesterday morning, when the Finance Committee was instructed to remit to England a second instalment of £5000. This amount will be paid over to the authorities through the High Commissioner in accordance with the Prime Minister's instructions.

A telegram was submitted to the com- ! mittee by Mr. A. Burt, secretary, expressing the Prime Minister's sympathy with the efforts of the league, and it is hoped that later on something in the way of a Government subsidy may be arranged. The telegram is as follows:—"In reply to your telegram. I much appreciate the very generous response that is being made throughout the Dominion in connection with funds for the relief of naval dependants, particularly in Auckland." A number of were considered by the executive, among them one from Major Large, retired Government officer at Cook Islands, suggesting that a subscription list be sent to the Resident Commissioner at Rarotonga. The committee decided to comply with this request, and will forward the list by the nest mail. With regard to a country campaign, it was decided not to hold a general navyday as had at first been contemplated, but to allow each district to conduct its own campaign. The date for the closing of the campaign was definitely fixed "as July 31.

CONCERT SO AID SCHEME.

TO-NIGHT'S ENTERTAINMENT.

he Ladies' Emergency Committee of the Nary League has organised a grand naval concert, which will take place in the Town Hall to-night, in aid of the relief fund. Souvenir programmes have been printed, and these, as well as home-made sweets, will be sold during the performance by j members of the girls' branch of the league, j The ladies' committee has worked untiringly on behalf of the fund since it was inaugurated, and to-night's concert will give all sympathisers an opportunity of expressing both their whole-hearted gratitude to the men of the navy, and their appreciation of the effort being made locally to assist all wounded sailors and their dependants. An exceptionally good programme has been arranged containing the following items:—Piano duo, "Third Suite" (Areusky). theme, dialogue, waltz, niarche triomphale, minuet (18th century), gavotte, nocturne, scherzo, Miss Evelyn Wyman and Mr. Barry Coney; tenor songs, (a) " Thoughts " (Howard Fisher), (b) " Invictus " (Bruno Huhn), Mr. Ernest Drake ; violin solo, " Legende " (Wieniawski). Miss Ava Symons; baritone songs, (a) In Summertime on Bredon" (Peel). (b) " Hymn to Light" (Ireland), Mr. Barry Coney; soprano aria, " Legend" (Iris) (Mascagni), Miss Alma Page; pianoforte solo, (a) " Prelude " (Debussy), (b) " Clair de Lune," (c) " Toccata," Miss Evelyn Wyman; contralto song, " The Last Call " (Sanderson), Miss Muriel Allen ; vocal duet, " Fickle-hearted Mimi " (Puccini), Messrs. Ernest Drake and Barry-Coney ; pianoforte solo, " Rhapsodie Hongroise, No. 12" (Liszt), Miss Evelyn Wyman; baritone songs, (a) " Dream Ships," (b) " Fortune Hunter," Mr. Barry Coney; violin soli, (a) " Andantino" (Martini-Kreisler), (b) " Obertass Mazurka " (Wieniawski), Miss Ava Svmons; soprano songs, (a) "Morning" (Ronald), (b) " Lass with the Delicate Air" (Aroel, Miss Alma Page; piano duo, " Danse Macabre ' (Saint Saens), Miss Evelyn Wyman and Mr. Barry Coney. A successful entertainment was given at the Lyric Picture Theatre yesterday afternoon, in aid of the Navy League's fund. There was a full house, and the programme, which provided speciallyselected films dealing with naval, military and humorous subjects, was well received. TE AROHA STREET COLLECTION. The street collection for the same relief totalled over £100.
