Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr. Eugene Wason called attention to Italy's large wool purchases at the Sydney sales, and asked whether the Government would make special representations to Italy to see that none of the wool reached Germany or Austria. Lord Robert Cecil, Under-Secre-tary to the Foreign Office, said the importance of preventing wool reaching the enemy had frequently been brought under the notice of the Italian Government, which ( had taken strict measures to prevent smuggling.
