SERIES OF THEFTS.

THREE BOYS ARRESTED

A series of thefts, committed in various parts of the city after business hours, have during the past few days been the subject of investigation by the police, who, on Saturday night, arrested three boys, all under the age of 16 years. Several of the auctioneering firms in the City Market have complained lately of the disappearance of money and fruit from their premises, and charges will be preferred against the boys in this connection. The premises of Messrs. Wright and Jaques, printers, in Albert Street, were also en tered and money and stamps stolen. In the hope that the delinquents would return Constables Coyle and Hooker secreted themselves in the premises on Saturday, and their watch resulted in the arrests in question. The boys will make an appearance at the juvenile offenders' court this morning.
