LOST OFF THE MOANA*

Wellington, Sunday. On the arrival of the Moana from San Francisco it was reported that on April 30, the day the vessel left Wellington on her outward voyage, tho chief cook, A. Woightman, disappeared somewhere off Capo Palliser. Ho was called in the afternoon, but later on could not be found. He is believed to be an Englishman, but nothing else is known about him.
While » special service steamer was coming from Auckland to Wellington last niplit the boatswain, a man named A. Tristram, was apparently lost overboard. The weather was fine and tho sea smooth. Tristram was seen a little after 11 p.m., but at ono o'clock this morning he could not be found. Ho was 41 years of age, and had friends in Dunedin and brothers and sisters in Liverpool, England.
